Intermittent hiccups continue to hamper post-holiday online gaming.
On Saturday, the Xbox team’s Major Nelson confirmed signing in issues that many Xbox Live gamers had experienced over the past few days. The problems seem to vary depending on when players sign in. Game Invasion has observed issues with getting on the service despite being able to see when friends login. As such, getting into Xbox Live Arcade, demos area and Marketplace either don’t appear or work slowly.
Nelson did not indicate what the issue with the slowdown in service might be but assured players that “the entire LIVE team has been working day and night to ensure that you can have a great LIVE experience.”
Speculation for the slowdown cites gamers on vacation looking for competition, issues with the new Fall update, a massive hack assault on the service or new Xbox 360 gift recipients getting online for the first time and going ape for demo downloads.
