WiiWare Game: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As a King
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As a King (Square Enix, 1500 points)
If you rush into this chapter of Crystal Chronicles expecting a full-blown role-playing game, you’re in for disappointment. This is a simulation where you rebuild a town from the ground up with the assistance of numerous friends and a magical crystal. Meanwhile, you’ll send others to do battle with monsters in order to find gold and help gather resources.
The graphics and sound are up to the usual Square Enix standard of excellence, and the gameplay can be quite addictive once you get into it. However, the game feels somewhat incomplete and overpriced. It takes up way too much space (287 blocks) on the console and there’s downloadable content coming that you’ll have to fork over extra cash for. It’s not a bad game, but Square Enix could’ve put a little more into it. Proceed with caution.
