These games shed power-ups and boss battles in favor of showing off their characters without clothes.
Custer’s Revenge (Atari 2600)
Custer’s Revenge, one of the most controversial games, stars a very naked and aroused General Custer and one voluptuous Native American woman. The goal? To dodge incoming arrows, reach the pixilated lady and have your way with her. Not the most wholesome of concepts, but the game is without question one of the forefathers of video game nudity, and sex, for that matter.
Beat ‘Em & Eat ‘Em (Atari 2600)
Mystique, the publisher behind Custer’s Revenge, further pushed the envelope with this frankly quite disturbing game, in which large breasted ladies run back and forth trying to catch, um, stuff, being dropped by a perv on the roof.
Bubble Bath Babes (NES)
One of the few games to never bear the Nintendo Seal of Quality, Bubble Bath Babes is a simple puzzle game where you group similarly colored bubbles to make them disappear. To further stimulate gamers, the developers tossed naked and soapy babes into the mix.
Dead or Alive 2 (Dreamcast, PS2)
DOA series developer Team Ninja gave its fans a treat with Dead or Alive 2’s intro, which features franchise character Kasumi (wearing only her birthday suit) in a vat of liquid. You really can’t see anything, but “vat,” “liquid,” and “Kasumi,” together in one sentence just sounds dirty.
God of War (PS2)
Kratos, the antihero of Sony’s epic franchise, takes advantage of everyone, especially the naked ladies begging for a little down time with Greece’s wild child. You never see him perform the deed, but both games feature some rare bare breasts straight out of an ’80s R-rated teen comedy.
BMX XXX (PS2, Xbox, GameCube)
Despite playing like garbage, BMX XXX garnered plenty of headlines for its gratuitous images of topless gals riding bicycles (isn’t that a Web site?). The fact that you can also view live action strip teases also raised some eyebrows. Hey, it beats watching naked men. One wrong move on a bike could ruin their chances of having kids.
Singles: Flirt Up Your Life (PC)
Get your mack on with Singles, where the object is to flirt your way into the bedroom (or wherever is most convenient). Naturally, sex doesn’t happen without getting naked, and the game is an equal-opportunity offender, with both parties showing some skin.
The Guy Game (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Girls go wild in this live action trivia game, where bathing suit wearing hotties reveal their boobs whenever they incorrectly answer a question. It seemed like a genius idea until it was revealed that one of the contestants was 17, which quickly turned The Guy Game into child porn.
Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Larry’s most recent console adventure was originally censored to avoid the dreaded Adults Only rating, but publisher Sierra eventually released an Uncut version that features naked women for Larry to ogle.
Naughty America: The Game (PC)
Porn company Naughty America fused xxx-rated instant messaging with a visual component in its PC MMO, which lets gamers create avatars, meet people at fictitious night clubs and return to a bedroom to watch their 2-D characters get it on in multiple positions. Thanks to added Web cam support, it won’t take long to find out you’ve been getting it on, cyber-style, with another dude.
Virtually Jenna (PC)
Porn star Jenna Jameson takes a stab at a video game career in this 3-D sex simulation game. Jenna and the gals strip and do the naughty at the beach, a fashion show and, for the traditionalists, in a bedroom.
Playboy: The Mansion (Xbox, PS2, PC)
The Playboy playmates in this game keep it classy by prancing around in next to nothing (but not nothing at all). The girls take it all off in game’s expansion, Private Party, but strategic blurring keeps it more PG-13 than R-Rated.
Conan (Xbox 360, PS3)
In this gore-filled adventure, Conan saves shirtless vixens who reward him with a sexy dance. Bonus: they don’t even try to lure him into the champagne room.
Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
A sexy scene in Mass Effect caused a big stir last month, and the fair and balanced Fox News jumped at the chance to bash the game for being a porn simulator. After the fact, resident Fox psychologist Cooper Lawrence retracted her venom-laced statements.
